Design Process by Cartisien

1. Discovery Phase

The first step in Cartisien's design process was a thorough discovery phase. Cartisien’s team engaged with various stakeholders, including product managers, cryptographers, and engineers, to understand the integration's scope and requirements. This phase included:

  • Stakeholder Interviews: Conduct interviews to gather insights into the functionalities required, the technical constraints, and the user expectations.
User Research: We analyzed the user personas of the existing SandboxAQ platform and Cryptosense users to identify commonalities and differences. This research was vital in ensuring that the integration effectively addressed all users.
  • Competitive Analysis: Reviewing competitors' products and industry best practices to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.

2. Ideation and Concept Development

With a clear understanding of the project goals and user needs, Cartisien moved into the ideation phase. This phase involved:

  • User Flow Mapping: Developing detailed user flows to visualize how users interact with the integrated platform. The focus was on minimizing friction points and ensuring a logical progression through various tasks.
  • Wireframing: Creating low-fidelity wireframes to outline key screens' basic structure and layout. These wireframes served as the foundation for further design iterations.
  • Concept Prototyping: Building interactive prototypes to test various design concepts and gather feedback from stakeholders and potential users.

3. Design and Development

The design phase involved translating the initial concepts into high-fidelity designs. Key activities during this phase included:

  • Visual Design: Developing a consistent visual language aligned with SandboxAQ's branding. This included choosing color schemes, typography, iconography, and other design elements.
  • Component Design: Designing reusable components that could be utilized across different platform parts to maintain consistency and reduce development time.
  • Accessibility Considerations: Ensuring that the design adhered to accessibility standards, including considerations for color contrast, font size, and keyboard navigation.

4. User Testing and Feedback

Once the initial designs were complete, Cartisien conducted user testing sessions to validate the concepts. This phase involved:

  • Usability Testing: Organizing usability testing sessions with actual users, including cybersecurity professionals and IT administrators, to identify any pain points or areas for improvement.
  • Feedback Analysis: Analyzing the feedback collected during testing to make informed design decisions and iteratively improve the user experience.
  • Refinement: Making necessary adjustments to the design based on feedback and ensuring that all stakeholders were aligned with the final vision.

5. Implementation and Handoff

The final phase of the project involved collaborating with the development team to implement the design. Cartisien worked closely with front-end developers to ensure the design was accurately translated into the platform. Key activities included:

  • Design Handoff: Providing detailed design specifications and guidelines to the development team to ensure a smooth implementation process.
  • Quality Assurance: Participating in quality assurance testing to identify discrepancies between the design and the implemented product.
  • Launch Support: Supporting the team during the platform launch, including troubleshooting any design-related issues that arose.
