Overview of Work
SandboxAQ is renowned for leveraging large quantitative models (LQMs) to deliver solutions across diverse fields, including life sciences, energy, chemicals, and financial services. Their platform focuses on the convergence of AI and quantum computing to create advanced solutions that address complex challenges. In line with its mission to enhance security measures, SandboxAQ acquired Cryptosense, a company recognized for its leading-edge cryptographic vulnerability detection software. Cryptosense's flagship product, CS Analyzer, utilizes algorithms developed by a top applied cryptography lab, ensuring that their technology remains at the forefront of cryptographic analysis.
The acquisition of Cryptosense represented a strategic move to enhance SandboxAQ's cybersecurity offerings, bringing an additional layer of protection for its clients, including technology companies, payment system operators, banks, secure hardware and software manufacturers, and multinational financial services corporations. The challenge, however, was integrating Cryptosense’s capabilities into the SandboxAQ platform while maintaining a cohesive and intuitive user experience.
The key objectives of the project were:
Cartisien played a critical role in achieving these objectives. Their responsibilities included:
The first step in Cartisien's design process was a thorough discovery phase. Cartisien’s team engaged with various stakeholders, including product managers, cryptographers, and engineers, to understand the integration's scope and requirements. This phase included:
With a clear understanding of the project goals and user needs, Cartisien moved into the ideation phase. This phase involved:
The design phase involved translating the initial concepts into high-fidelity designs. Key activities during this phase included:
Once the initial designs were complete, Cartisien conducted user testing sessions to validate the concepts. This phase involved:
The final phase of the project involved collaborating with the development team to implement the design. Cartisien worked closely with front-end developers to ensure the design was accurately translated into the platform. Key activities included:
Problem: Integrating Cryptosense’s capabilities into the SandboxAQ platform without disrupting the existing user experience was a significant challenge. Both platforms had distinct functionalities and user bases, making finding a middle ground difficult.
Solution: Cartisien approached this challenge by creating a unified information architecture that combined the best of both platforms. By developing detailed user flows and wireframes, they identified commonalities and streamlined processes, ensuring that the integration felt seamless and intuitive for all users.
Problem: The platform had to cater to a wide range of users, from novice users to highly experienced cybersecurity professionals. Balancing simplicity and advanced functionality was a critical challenge.
Solution: Cartisien employed a modular design approach, allowing users to customize their experience based on their proficiency levels. This included providing simple, guided workflows for novice users and advanced tools and configurations for experts. Additionally, the design incorporated contextual help and tooltips to assist users as they navigated the platform.
Problem: It was essential to ensure the platform was accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. However, the complexity of the platform’s functionalities posed challenges in meeting accessibility standards.
Solution: Cartisien utilized accessibility best practices, such as high-contrast color schemes, larger fonts, and keyboard navigation support. They also conducted accessibility testing with users who had disabilities to identify any barriers and make necessary adjustments.
Problem: Maintaining brand consistency while integrating two distinct platforms was challenging. SandboxAQ’s brand identity needed to be preserved while incorporating Cryptosense’s functionality.
Solution: Cartisien worked closely with the marketing and branding teams to ensure the integration maintained a consistent visual language. This included using SandboxAQ’s color palette, typography, and design elements while subtly incorporating Cryptosense’s visual cues to create a harmonious blend.
The integration of Cryptosense into the SandboxAQ platform was a resounding success. The newly designed platform offered a seamless user experience that effectively combined the strengths of both systems. Key outcomes included:
