Handshake is a decentralized naming protocol where every peer manages the root DNS naming zone to create an alternative to existing Certificate Authorities and naming systems.
Namebase is the most accessible place to privately buy, sell, or securely manage handshake domains in an open-bidding marketplace. Unlike traditional domain registrars, Namebase offers domain owners actual ownership vs. annual leasing. DNS records are on-chain, which means they are tamper-proof. And no government or organization can censor handshake domains.
The challenge for Namebase was to design a professional crypto-asset exchange and a consumer-level SAAS app that would allow the layperson to purchase handshake domains.
Simple: make Handshake easy-to-use to enable mass adoption. Period. End of story.
This is complex and groundbreaking, so our task was straightforward: Create a user experience that both educates a layperson & empowers a power user looking for maximal control while trading a handshake to secure a domain.
A clean and clear user interface was paramount from the initial airdrop via a GitHub invite to the professional trading view.

The Result
We created a very slick interface that allows a user to purchase $HNS via a professional and a consumer-level marketplace. After a user purchased the $HNS via $USDT or $BTC, they could transfer the funds into $HNS, subsequently buying their HandShake domain on Namebase. In February 2022 Namebase was purchased by one of the largest domain registration companies, Namecheap.com
